Fat Tuesday Kloof
Classes
The latest on our classes
We have had a lot of interest in the classes but it seems when we get to the swings few people are able
to make the dates we offer or just dont pitch if something better comes up.
You can imagine our frustration in trying to keep teachers and students happy. Never mind keeping the cake fresh!
With this in mind we have decided to restrict the classes to 3 months of the year. Quite possibly April, May and June 2012.
We will still be offering the following:
- Creative Writing
- Bookmaking
- Cartooning
- Watercolour painting
- Fun Clay Sculpture
- Photography
- Paper Making
- Google Sketch Up
- Blogging
- Wet felting
If any of these appeal to you and you are keen to try a class during those months then send us an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Classes - Wet Felting

Felting makes use of roving wool, a pure clean, dyed and carded sheep's wool. The fibres of which are felted into each other to create a piece of felted fabric.
The art of felting dates back to the 13th century, in Europe. and in Scandinavia even earlier. The Scandinavian peoples used Alpaca wool for felting to create the fabric with which they made their homes and clothing. Felting allows for seamless, waterproof garments. Only recently has felting become a popular craft, being so diverse that the creative possibilities are endless. Roving wool can be transformed into garments, foot wear, hats, bags, purses and all manner of adornments. Using a specialized needle roving wool can be sculpted, and knitting in "out sizes" and shrinking hats, scarves and sweaters may also be felted. We will be offering the wet felting method, where the roving wool is transformed into a flower adornment
